Ruby’S Road

Through San Andrea's Fault

Last post of this drawing, i wasn’t settled on the name, this week it landed,

Ruby’s Road

i thought of Dorothy’s ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz and wondered what if the ruby magic of her slippers was in the road before her instead of yellow brick?

What’s with San Andrea’s Fault?

Danny, the host of Open Mic, played it.  If you’re not familiar, it’s a hauntingly beautiful Natalie Merchant song from her Tigerlily album.

The metaphor for the level of uncertainty we are all facing at this time of exponential Ai tech growth seemed apt.

i wonder are we all living as if on San Andre’s Fault, about to quake and disrupt!

i wonder what you think of AI and if you have stepped into using it, in any sort of deliberate way?

i skipped posting and the pub last week. A confluence of projects and a time sensitive class, despite my commitment to get back to weekly on both, something had to go…

After being up late, reviewing class replays on Ai, a 9 hr free class, well not free…

i had to withstand a lot of long form sales techniques but since i’m familiar with, i could still consider the meat and leave the goo. it’s the second Ai training i’ve participated in recently. They both suggested sharing a lot about yourself and contexts to train your agent and then a clone. really… a clone?

i’m not using it yet, well not jumping in where its not already foisted on me/us inadvertently, in the latest search engines.

i have concerns about it and at the same time, see its value. & likely the impending necessity to step in on some level for efficiency sake. i’ve seen folks using it in surprising and quite helpful ways. i think it could have a very powerful use in supporting small biz folks to be able to compete with much bigger less nimble companies.

For now, i am analyzing and considering how it can be used wisely, as a tool to augment and build on what i’m doing. So as, not to be used and consumed by it.

i’d prefer a version that is actually open source (as opposed to the Chat GPT created by the company called Open Source that isn’t actually open source, despite its name).

Decentralized and secure are 2 other important qualities. i’ve heard of a few but think one might need to be more tech savvy than i to use those at this point in their development.

Call me tin foil hat but i’m not wild about all my data and (personal info that would need to be shared for it to work well) being vacuumed up by the big corps versions readily available. Just like the big social media companies, free isn’t really free. They save your data and sell it.

Well i must wrap this up or another week will get swallowed before i send.

i am curious of your thoughts on Ai?

& thanks for being here!
