Organizing, as i was gathering receipts for my taxes, (on extension, ouch, haven’t had to do that in years) i found some old letters. One from an advisor that i had during my Master’s thesis work. in response to my update, he said,
.
“You do stick your head in the lion’s mouth! Good to know that you can take it out.”
.
i reflected and thought, Yes i have done that… still do that…
Working for oneself, having my own business, when business was not necessarily something i was inclined toward, has from time to time, wrapped my head with a lion’s jaw. Not to mention, a few personal adventures with the metaphor.
.
i do rather like lions… Recently was asked to draw some. Thus, it was fun to find this letter.
.
Have you ever put your head in the lion’s mouth?
.
For me it can be the result of following some passion, taking a risk in service of some inspiration. Sometimes, it’s from ignoring a red flag or avoiding some ornery administrative thing, another part of me knows better about. Sometimes, my inner Rebel Girl has her way. Good thing she takes along Studious Girl, who usually has a prop or a tool for prying the lion’s jaw.
.
Yes, its good to know that you can take it out!
After removing my head Day 84
And especially these 2!
There will be more! “Listen to the Lion” Van Morrison from the album St Dominic’s preview. Do you by any chance know it?
This is wonderful… looking forward to seeing you online soon!
Thank you Frauke! Excited to join you for some lion heart awakening!
