20 years, if i’d been drawing for 20 years, i’d have 7300 drawings. It’s also 20 years since i lost my oldest brother, Jon. It’s an interesting marker 20 years. i don’t usually like to pay attention to this date preferring to note his Birthday. He would be 60 this year in October. i was surprised when i added up 365 x 20 years, such an even number 7300. Somehow, some odd irregular jarring number would seem more right. But, actually, 7300 is easier than 365 that’s for sure. What a wild journey this mortal path is. i’m grateful for memories and a sense of his presence that stay with me. i wonder if in 20 years i’ll have 7300 drawings… he would like that.
