Week 59: Releases a Rainbow
This is a watercolor illustration for a book my mother has written. She did all the other illustrations a few years ago.
In order to finish the book, she felt it needed another image. Because of failing eyesight, she can no longer do the detailed work required.
So, we worked on the drawing together. She roughed it out, i put in details and then painted it to match others already complete.
It’s a fun story and i was glad that i was able to help fill in a gap.
It’s quite different than the way i’ve worked. i found it a little challenging, i haven’t worked with watercolors in years and never did very much even then. i am pleased enough with how it turned out and relieved to have it finished with no great bloopers.
In case you missed it, there is still time and space to join my upcoming workshop, Little Haven Habits. Link below for more info.
i’ve also just published To The Point, my just in time newsletter, a much less frequent event than this weekly blog. In it i suggest we should extend April Fool’s Day…
Thanks for reading & have a great week!
