Trip

Up, not down

Last week i mentioned some new line drawings i’ve done. This is Trip, one of the musicians at the Poultney Pub (formerly Taps) Wednesday Open Mic.

Though, i’m still drawing everyday (with occasional weekend breaks) mostly that involves working back into existing work. i’ve wanted to get back to more regular sketching & the creation of new line drawings. So, taking my drawing pad to open mic seemed like a good idea. i like the forms of instruments and drawing people is a good challenge.

Last week, i also mentioned, some coming changes. i’ve decided to put the workshops on hold. More on why and what’s instead, in my next post &/or newsletter.

Hint: part of it, is i aim to be doing more stream writes ahead as part of a new offering. Here’s a stream on Trip (done on the spot, as i write/wrote this blog with only a few edits, space and punc. for ease of reading)

Trip:  Trip Up not down, gravity usually has us fall down when we trip, lose our balance and topple over or crash to the ground, fall hard or fall gently, gravity pulls us down, but then there are other sorts of trips, Trip above is a Trip Up.

Trip, A curious buoyant man, who plays energetic guitar and sings his heart out, cares about people, his generous spirit is an up Trip, not a down trip, hmm like up stream and down stream but not really, really to emphasize what you’re saying or not,

knot a bump in a rope could have you trip if it wasn’t expected. Or it could keep you from falling giving you something to grab onto, to save you from the gravity skinning your knees, catching your self before the ground.

Grounded, now you’re ready to hang on to that knot at the end of the rope and sail out over the water before letting go for another splash, an underwater Trip. Thanks Trip!

This was another drawing from the same night. i liked its simplicity. just part of a guitar before i got interrupted… Guitar interrupted instead of girl interrupted.

i hope you have a good uninterrupted week!

Cheers to creative flow and trip ups!
