Iris & first Thunder
i love thunder and lightening storms so, i was tickled when we had our first of the season this morning. i’m often, both exhilarated and calmed by them. When i was a kid, we had a lot of power disrupting electrical storms. When it would go out in the night, my Mom would light candles and get my brothers and i up and bring us to the living room. We’d lay blankets on the floor and watch the storms together until we fell asleep again. My mother was and is a good magic maker.
i stuck my head in the lion’s mouth again last week. i signed up for a workshop, i didn’t have the money for with current financial outflow greater than inflow. Yikes! what was i thinking, in the middle of rebuilding my website, reinventing my business/career inclusive of a new commitment to the making end of my creative life. Adding a 6 month workshop, Writing in Community where i committed to finishing a book by the autumn equinox is quite possibly a dangerous distraction from drawing and business building. If i am not careful, i could get eaten alive. Okay i’m being dramatic here ha, ha! Not literally ferociously eaten but i already feel the pressure of a closing jaw…
Circuitously, the lion’s appetite instigated using the drawing and metaphor on my about page and i’m having fun with that.
And… due to the limited number of hours in a day for the second week in a row, not so much drawing time. For today, i am posting a drawing i worked back into last summer. i hope you enjoy it.
i invite you to think about when a circuitous path of yours instigated some wonderful fun development that might not have come about otherwise.
Beautiful artwork Lisa
