Damn Ice Dams
Winter in Vermont! The roof was calling me this week. i didn’t listen until it cried, leaking tears in the dining room window trim.
After sawing, smashing and chopping the damn dam is broken open and water was flowing…
Until it froze again. Oh yes, March, lions and lambs, lesson learned… i’m now gratefully less afraid of ladders and large masses of ice on roofs. Some times roof raking isn’t enough. Ooda, Buddha Ooda!
This week just a few pub drawings and below them a stream write on the damn Ice Dam! (edited formatting slightly)

Ice dam
damn, ice dam!
Beaver dam, ice jam,
jam on my bread with butter taste sweet, sweet
Or salty butter light shines on the ice, Melts
Water now above the dam doesn’t have an easy way through so it’s backing up, pooling, then leaking and spilling as it finds its way down, one way or another.
Just follow a drips trip, where does the water go with gravity?
Gravity’s instigation, breaking it free, pulling it forward. breaching the ice, breaking the ice
Break the ice, start the conversation, then go
go swimming, plunge into the deep cool pool
ahh refreshment, not ice, like a drug or a cop, losing or taking control.
Running away from ice, from winter from constraints, anticipating even longer days.
i don’t feel the jam, the ice dam girl, Charlotte! Frozen Charlotte has let go of her go go girl!
She’s shaking it out, moving easily, no longer frozen in the gutter or a wagon, no more ice damn
broken
stream runs freely wildly now
what will emerge in the next season before the next ice damn?
Hey Little Haven Peeps!
Hang in there, winters not over yet… LLLLLiving the Magic Zoom coming soon…
Just a few frost heaves to level out, the sap is running and the days are getting longer.
Thanks for hanging in with me in my winter mode.
