BEGINAGAIN

At the beginning of a new cycle, i am thinking about patterns. So i’m posting a series of stages that lead to last week’s Orbit and up to its latest stage today, my visual process. A pattern of suns that developed from a labyrinth candle tree card i’d created some time ago.

Subtle changes in a pattern slowly add up to create transformation. Sometimes, it feels slow, sometimes like a dramatic jump.

Often, the seemingly invisible incremental changes are surprisingly not hidden. We just miss noticing them while our attention is held elsewhere. A series of steps, the forces of change build over time. Sometimes, our mind fills the pattern in, as if it’s the same, not recognizing the minute changes until looking back from a distant vantage point. Seeing a leap, we puzzle,

How did we get here?

Beginnings can provoke resistance, so sometimes it’s helpful to think it’s just another day, or drawing, or change in a series… 

i have no intentions with the beginning of this cycle about the medium or focus (like the last two years, first line, then color and tone). i aim to continue exploring creating and posting. The intention this orbit, is as i mentioned in an earlier post to share my work with a wider audience, (to get back on social media).

Clearly, i am having resistance to that endeavor. Will this be the post that gets shared?

i had more to say but that part still needs editing. Or is it resistance… showing up as tumbly difficult tangle of redundant words… i keep at it.
