Catch The Rabbit
Surprisingly, some new line drawings of musicians. (No, not the pub yet)
Also this week, an older drawing with an empty page, getting ready for color & yes more magic screen practice catching rabbits.
Paper Sun plays Empty Pages.
Here is to this human journey it sure doesn’t follow a script!
i’ve been feeling in a bit over my head with a project that i’ve had a great deal of both inner resistance to and outer resistance appearing… Seeming dead ends, convoluted upended back tracks & thankfully some moments of glee when i fit a complicated puzzle piece in a previously hidden gap.
Just when you’re at your wits end, a little nudge shows up… a gift appeared late on a Friday afternoon after a very ornery week. When i ordinarily would have been on my way home to the Dale, having stayed in VT and continued working, the puzzle peace landed in the gap. Ahhh about to walk the dog and shift gears, one of my brothers upon discovering i was still in VT, informed me that he was taking me to a show, starting at 7:30.
i was amused at his proclamation, instead of an invitation.
Characteristic of his out of the blue mischievousness, he later confirmed he was intending that i would not have the option to say no. Upon asking what the show was, he just said, i wouldn’t be disappointed. He was right! It was a terrific evening!
Consummate musicians & fabulous music. With all the mystery, i took my drawing pad as a safety net if it was not to my liking, i could at least draw. No safety net needed! & i did both listen & draw with pleasure. The show was such a treat, in a great little theater, The Strand in Hudson Falls, New York. The fantastic band was Paper Sun, a Traffic “cover band” but so much more!
More fun came when it turned out, i was familiar with and had heard two of the musicians Bruce Katz and Scott Petito.
Here are some drawings. i only wish i’d had a bigger drawing pad as being in the balcony, drawing a whole band, was a lot to capture on a small format.
Really appreciating the much needed adventure and the mischievous delivery too! Thank you!
