Day 349: Suck it up! Butter Cup! i used to have dreams when i was a kid that involved a butter cup about to get crushed. i would wake just before it was too late. My neighbor came in one day while i was vacuuming, “Oh you’re sucking!” he says… a funny curious man you could talk with him in the driveway for 2 hours. Vacuum time away, all the bits and pieces, scraps and ash whisked away. Neaten up, yes suck it up, get it done, push through the hard stuff, get on with it despite the discomfort, hold your breath, then breath again… in time. Some days are a breeze, some days not so much and you keep the practice going and soon you are amazed by what you’ve created because you were willing to suck it up on the days you didn’t feel like it or that were so busy it was left to the 25th hour. Then there it is, soon a year of drawings… the butter cup escaped! Now there is a full cup of butter, ready to be shared ready to grace the broken bread at the start of the day.
